Dhruv Bhatnagar’s directorial debut A Winter’s Lion is tells the remarkable story of Karpal Kaur Sandhu, the UK’s first female Sikh police constable. Set in 1970s London amid rising racial tensions and far-right extremism, a senior police officer recounts her courage to journalists as she fought prejudice within both the force and society. Yet behind her trailblazing achievements lay a hidden struggle at home—one that would tragically end in her murder at the hands of her own husband.

We have recently completed principal photography and are currently in post-production. The film has already begun attracting national press attention, including coverage from BBC News and Deadline.
